Tips for Best Results
- Keep the pastry cold. Cold puff pastry rises better and creates flakier layers.
- Dock the center lightly. Prick the base with a fork to control puffing and create space for the filling.
- Cool completely before filling. Adding cream to warm pastry will cause it to melt and soften.
- Add fruit just before serving.
- This keeps the berries fresh and prevents excess moisture from soaking into the pastry.
- Use a piping bag for neat filling. It creates a cleaner, more elegant presentation.

How To make Quick and Easy Easter Baskets
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/8-inch. Using a cookie cutter, form 12 circles, each 3-4 inches in diameter. Cut out the centers of 6 circles. Prick the remaining 6 circles with a fork. Place the rims on the base and brush with egg yolk. Braid the remaining dough and shape them into semicircles for the basket handles. Brush the basket handles with egg yolk.
- Cut out small daisies from the dough. Bake in the oven for 4 minutes for the daisies, 10 minutes for the handles, and 15 minutes for the baskets. Cool.

- Mix the cream cheese with the condensed milk. Transfer the cream to a pastry bag. Pipe the cream into the baskets. Push the handles into the cream.
- Arrange the grapes and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

- Decorate the daisies with a drop of melted orange chocolate or icing. Arrange the daisies in the baskets.

If you use ready made pastries or vol-au-vents, choose fresh ones that are not too dry and free of an excessive margarine smell. For the filling, use a dense, grain-free, and acidic cream cheese. Classic options like Philadelphia, Almette, or any high-quality alternative are ideal. We used condensed milk as a sweetener, but you can substitute it with powdered sugar or syrup of your choice.
