Self Saucing Chocolate Pudding recipe. Easy old fashioned classic oven baked dessert with healthy dark cocoa mixed in same dish then baked.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  1. 1 cup of flour
  2. 3/4 cup of sugar (or coconut sugar)
  3. 3 tbsp of cocoa
  4. 2 tsp of baking powder
  5. 1/4 tsp of salt
  6. 1/2 cup of milk (substitute with almond or coconut milk)
  7. 2 tbsp of olive oil
  8. 1 tsp of van extract

The topping

  1. 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  2. 1/4 cup of cocoa
  3. 1/1/4 boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to  180 deg. C (356 deg. F)
  2. In a baking dish add the dry and wet ingredients all together in the dish you are going to bake the pudding in.
  3. Mix this all together until incorporated well. level it out in the dish.
  4. Then mix the topping, sugar, cocoa, and the boiling water together, add over the top of the pudding mixture.
  5. Place it in the oven and Bake the dessert until done.
  6. Bake for 40 min.
  7. Take out and place on a cooling rack or cooling mat for a few minutes. Serve warm as the sauce will be at the bottom of the pudding. 
  8. Serve in a dessert bowl and spoon some sauce over the serving. An option is to add a dollop of ice cream or cream. enjoy.

Notes

  • Dark chocolate and cocoa are also one of the foods that help your body fight inflammation. A small portion of dark chocolate that has a percentage of 70 % or more is good for you daily.
  • (Using a good choice of flour such as coconut flour or almond flour or Bobs Red Mill four for a gluten free recipe)
