Ingredients

  1. 500 g (1 LB) Sliced button mushrooms in half
  2. 1/4 cup of Balsamic vinegar
  3. 1/4 cup olive oil
  4. salt and pepper
  5. 1 teaspoon of garlic powder or 2 minced garlic cloves.

Instructions

  1. Firstly have your fire burning to coals, and braai or barbecue your meats and other food that will cook longer on hot coals. Then lastly add your mushroom kebabs to quickly cook, but first prepare them.
  2. Slice the button mushrooms in half so the skewers can go through for grilling.
  3. Mix the balsamic vinegar and olive oil and spices to marinate the mushroom slices in.
  4. Add the mushrooms to a bowl and stir in the marinate and soak all for about 20 minutes.
  5. Add the the skewers.
  6. Braai or barbecue them on the grill with cool coals at the end of the braai.
  7. Turn over in 2 minutes, each side, they cook quickly and should be done.
  8. Serve as a side dish or an appetizer for a meal for the family.
  9. A delicious vegetarian or vegan and gluten free side for a meal.
