Ingredients

Scale
  1. 397 g tin of condensed milk (all together with cold water should make up 2 cups)
  2. cold water
  3. 2 eggs, yokes and whites separate.
  4. 1 Tablespoons of gelatin mixed in 4 Tablespoons of cold water
  5. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg yokes in a medium bowl, (as you will add the hot condensed milk to it) and also whisk the egg whites until stiff in another bowl.
  2. Add the gelatin in the water (as per ingredients) to dissolve.
  3. Bring the condensed milk diluted with the water to a boil. Then add it to the egg yoke mixture a little at a time whisking. Until it curdles.
  4. Place this mixture back in the pot on the stove, and warm up again until the egg yokes are mixed in and the mixture is thickened. Take off of the stove.
  5. Add the gelatin mixture into this warm mixture and stir until it has been dissolved, then add the vanilla extract, and stir in.
  6. Then lastly pour the warm milk mixture over the stiffly whipped egg whites and mix well.
  7. Pour your mixture into the bowls to set, (or make one dessert bowl or fill a mould,) for this pudding mixture. Once cooled, place in the fridge until set. Best overnight or made first thing in the day.
  8. On a serving dish for dessert, turn over the bowls, to release the dessert, if desired, and serve with whipped cream. Or add the whipped cream to the top for garnish and serve.
  9. Add some fresh cut strawberries or other fruit to add to the dessert.

Notes

  • berries or strawberries,
  • whipped cream,
  • caramel drizzle,
  • crushed cookies,
  • or a sprinkle of vanilla or plain cinnamon are delicious additions.
